City Destroyed by Toffees

Everton 5 Hull City 1

Ouch. That one hurt. But considering Everton’s recent form at home (wins over United & Chelsea), realistically it was never going to be three points for the Tigers.

Methodically and at times spectacularly picked apart by the passing and movement of Everton, the Tigers capitulated rather alarmingly. Mikel Arteta was tormentor in chief, firing home two, one of which was exquisitely setup by South African Steven Pienaar. A Richard Garcia own goal, which really should be credited to Boaz Myhill for failing to deal with the ball into the six, a Landon Donovan missile, and finally Jack Rodwells marker made it five for the Toffee’s.

On the bright side, Tom Crainey curled home a magnificent volley to equalize at one, but the Tigers were living a lie and it was only a matter of time before Everton sealed it. Best just to pack up, move on, and begin focus on next weekends clash with high flying Arsenal. Yikes.
