City Grab Draw at Anfield

Hull 2 Liverpool 2
Hull City went to Liverpool and came away with a thrilling 2-2 draw today. Paul McShane headed the Tigers ahead from a Marlon King cross, with Jamie Carragher turning into his own net from a Bernie Mendy cross to put Hull 2-0 up.
A Stevie G double brought things level and an action packed first half ended 2-2. While the second half lacked the goal scoring exploits of its earlier counterpart, there were still a hatful of chances, mostly going to the home side. Hull withstood the pressure, and even launched some forays forward of their own, before the final whistle confirmed the 2-2 draw.
Dean Windass even came on late for the Tigers, but had little impact. Marlon King played well, holding it up nicely at times and had some good touches moving forward. Wasn’t too surprised he was included, after last weeks shenanigans, but as Brownie said, if he was at training and in good form, why not? Geovanni was his usual self as well, scampering about firing passes into the channels. Man I enjoy watching him play in the black and orange stripes.
From Liverpool’s point of view I was very curious to see Robbie Keane rooted to the bench for the entire 90 plus. He seems to be exactly what the Reds needed late on, when they were besieging the box, but were consistently lacking inside it. The crosses were there, but not the finishing, thankfully for us. So cheers for that Rafa.
