Tigers 2 Arsenal 1

By: Matt | September 27th, 2008

So remember that time when everyone picked Hull to be this years Derby?

Because I do.

6th in the table. Only team aside from West Ham to beat the Arse in the Emirates. Three wins out of six. I’ll take it. More to follow. Too busy celebrating.

Great match, I watched most of the game and Hull’s hard play really came through. Great start, I’ll certainly be pulling for you this year here in the states.

    Go Bills!
    Go Tigers!

    HiMatt and all Tigers.

Have been to the Emirates, Sid James Park and Everton at the KC, but will stick to Arsenal here if that’s Ok

Haven’t posted for a while. But please indulge me.

Thro our site I want to apologise to some of the players I doubted in the past and congratulate everyone at the KC for the last 3 games entertainment. As a born Geordie a win alone is not enough – entertainment is high on the list. 3 thrilling games. Myhill had a stormer. Dawson beat in form Walcott ends up, even for pace several times. Ashbee played within his limitations. King is now a monster in every Gunners nightmare. Geovs goal- oooh! Cousins tricks. Turners stature. Zay’s defending looks good. I could go on forever, but you are spared. And the Tiger fans – worth a goal – do not underestimate their contribution. Im off again ! Must calm down.

The 2008 Euro Championships showed us the way forward. Think we all agree now that it is a waste to go away to the best teams and defend for 90 mins – they are patient and clever and used to it – they just screw you. But take them head on and you’ve got a chance. We did, but it only worked cos of the management and players. Tactics – belief – play to your strengths – pace – ability – etc. You name it and it was on show at the Emirates, and Sid James Park and the first hour against Everton at the KC. Ok, a bit of luck thrown in too. That’s football.

All we need now is the Ref that Man U got on Saturday ! And guess what ? Yes, Rob Styles is listed for our Spurs game ! But whose side will he be on ? Or is he banned following Boltons complaints.

Recovering from the trip to the Emirates after the Toon. Wot a stadium. What a game. Wot a day, and we deserved it. No fluke. Only negative is M of Day editing did not do us justice. We played a lot of good stuff. Gunners had to resort to a lot of hopeful balls punted to Abadeyor, and we had pace to counter attack and we have learned not to give the ball away so often. And we did not resort to the old tactic of kicking them off the park or Stoke’s long ball game.

Does it get any better ? I’m away to lie down ready for my trip to Spurs. Gosh chaps !

Gooners were lavish in their genuine praise of our display. Well done to them. Saw them play at Bolton last week and they were awesome. Not their day against us. They even applauded us off the pitch. True !

Newspapers too were full of praise for our triumph for footballs sake. All thought we deserved the win. Except one paper obviously reported by watching M of Day. The Star thought “Hull’s plan was blatant and crude” Disgaceful reporting.

Did yous all see ManU beat the Danes this week. Scholes gets a nasty kick on the knee (red card for me) and the ITV commentatator says = “Paul Scholes gets up rather gingerly”. See how relaxed we are becoming at Hull with nonsense like this.
